‘Sky Series’ looks at the contrast between modern living and places of work and how the two are similar. Kirsty’s aim was to look closer and these different types of buildings and show how office blocks can be mistaken for residential properties because of the way in which architecture has developed. There is a distinct lack of greenery which has now been built into the look of the building i.e. the exteriors almost looking like greenhouses.
The final selection of work, shot both in Birmingham and London, explores with juxtapositions, angles and vibrant colours on the exteriors. The images also show harsh lines and varied angles each captures from looking from the ground up as Kirsty wanted to show the buildings from alternative points of view and explore how architects are designing both residential and office spaces.
